This page is maintained by the SPEAKZY team to answer common security and privacy questions about SPEAKZY. It is editable project content and is not an independent certification.
Accounts are protected by email/password sign-in and Google sign-in. Sessions are managed by our authentication provider; passwords are never stored by SPEAKZY in plain text.
Each user can only view and edit their own profile, lessons, streaks, and progress. Premium status, achievements, XP, and streak counters can only be modified by trusted server code — not by direct API calls.
SPEAKZY is built on Lovable Cloud and runs on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Database access is gated by row-level security policies. This describes platform capabilities we use; it is not a third-party certification.
To run the app we store: your email, username, chosen languages, study progress, XP, streaks, achievements, and optional profile fields you provide (avatar, country, birth year, gender). We use this data to personalise lessons, power leaderboards, and award progress.
We do not sell your personal data. Shared responsibility: features you opt into (like adding friends or appearing on leaderboards) make a limited set of profile fields visible to other signed-in users.
SPEAKZY uses cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as theme. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand usage; we do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
Your data is kept while your account is active. To request deletion of your account or a copy of your data, contact us using the email below.
If you believe you've found a security issue, please report it to info@speakzy.co.uk. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we've had a chance to respond.
